Absolutely the best infant formula
Our daughter has severe GER and we tried everything from prilosec to every formula out there enfamil, similac, etc... As last resort our pediatrician said to try Neocate. We have been using it for a month and all symptoms are gone. It's very easy to mix and daughter loves it.Only thing is its expensive so if you can get your insurance company to cover it that will help. Some states have laws that force them to cover it with a doctors note.

Expensive but it works!
Our son has acid reflux and has it turns out protein sensitivity. We tried regular formula, RS, Soy, even Alimentum to no avail. After multiple pediatrician visits and finally a trip to the ER we were told to go on this by a GI specialist and it worked!!!This is very expensive without insurance help, $135 for a case shipped from Neocate's website, their standard shipping is very fast in our case. (Do a Google search for coupon codes for another 10% - 15% off on their website, the codes randomly change but a quick Google search for Neocate coupons should give you the current code(s).) It will vary from state to state but if you can get your Dr. to write a prescription for this it SHOULD be covered by insurance. Check the reimbursement section on Neocates website for more information regarding your state.Obviously this isn't a 1st choice for formula but if your child is having trouble or not wanting to eat, spitting up, has colic, etc. you may want to talk to your...

Excellent, if expensive, option for babies with milk allergy
I developed terrible insomnia due to complications with the delivery of my daughter. The result was I couldn't take care of her at night. I knew she was probably allergic to milk, as my son had a milk allergy until he was 5. So when she needed formula at night we got Nutramigen Lipil Hypo-Allergenic Formula to avoid any problems. It seemed to work pretty well until one day when we left her with a sitter and she had many more bottles of formula than usual--she immediately had blood in her stool.Our doctor said she must be allergic to my breastmilk as it was "impossible" to be allergic to Nutramigen because it was labeled as hypo-allergenic. I knew this had to be wrong. My son breastfed until he was 17 months old without any problem--I just had to avoid *all* dairy products in my diet. Thank god for the internet. I found out about Neocate on an allergy Web site. Since we ordered it she's had no more problems. It's a real relief as I have had to wean her from the breast at 9...

Baby PREFERS Over Breast Milk!!!
This is my husband's account...My baby loves this stuff! She has stopped wanting the breast all together because she correlates it with her belly hurting. She's so smart! Cause I know this corn water CAN'T taste better than breast milk! Smells totally gross!But without any lactose it is easier on my baby's belly than breast milk.The main ingredient is corn syrup solids and it DOES contain some soy, both highly dissapointed me when I received the product, but when my baby got full easier, ate slower and fell asleep right away I had a change of heart.She is still colicky, but not as bad and we haven't cut the breast milk out yet, so we will see how much better she gets after that. She is getting happier and more content already with only eating 4 ounces of breast milk, and all other feeding Neocate, today. I feel TERRIBLE giving up breastfeeding, but if synthetic food makes her feel better than that is what we'll do for her. i am worried about her gut...

The only formula baby would drink
My daughter was allergic to milk and soy (so we thought). We experimented with other formulas, but this is the only one she would take. It smells gross, but all formulas do more or less. She was very content with Neocate. Its expensive as heck though!

Only formula which did not cause allergy
This is a great formula, very complete and balanced. Another reviewer said one can lasts about 4 days, I've never had it last more than 3 at most, and the baby does not eat more than what's normal. Would recommend to anyone, only con is the insane price.

Amazon price was comparable to wholesale direct from the manufacturer and is reliable and speedy in shipping. Price is high and 1 can lasts only 4 days. Manufactured in England. Comparable American made product called Elecare, just as good, slightly better price, but if you go to the Neocate manufacterer website and call their customer service you can request your first sample can free. Good product for infants with milk protien allergies. We were concerned about strange colored soiled diaper and pediatrician tested it and came up positive for blood in stool. Doc started us on elemental formulas first. Two are widely available. Similac Alimentum and Enfamil Nutramigen. Enfamil adds DHA to their formula in an attempt to make it more comparable to breast milk but our infant couldn't digest it and passed it as a thick yellow paste. You won't find this on the shelf, but MD.s and Parents should know it is out there! I am not a medical professional. I have 5 children who had sever allergies to all the normal formulas, milk or soy based, as well as Alimentum, Nutramigen, and Pregestimil. I found it absolutely ridiculous that none of our Pediatricians had any knoledge of the formulas out there, and that I had to educate them... But if I had not been proactive, my children would of suffered more then they did... or possibly failed to thrive... live? With all 5 children, I tried the normal formulas first, then proceeded to the hypoallergenic... I thank God I found Neocate, WOW... It was a life saver, for my kids!!! No more vomiting, diaper rashes/yeast infections/thrush, cramps, bloating, gas, screaming in pain... it was wonderfull not having infants/toddlers who screamed in pain 20 + hours a day!!! My children thrived on Neocate, where they had done poorly on the other formulas...

Happy but stinky
Neonate worked well for my newborn with GI problems. I found the formula worked best when mixed with breast milk. Our son was on a 27 calorie diet. However when he had straight formula it was very difficult and uncomfortable when he had to poop. Also the toots and poops were very stinky.
