My girls prefer these and I have to agree
Having been a swimmer through high school and some college, I had plenty of opportunity to wear latex swim caps. As a guy, I found them not to be the most comfortable of things to wear and I didn't have near the hair as any of the female swimmers. Once my girls started swimming classes, they too needed to wear swim caps at the Y. We originally bought latex and I immediately recalled how much I disliked wearing them when I tried to put them on 3 and 4 year olds. Lycra caps are a world of difference. It's much nicer for the girls to put on and take off and it's isn't as uncomfortable while they are swimming. They've made it through almost two seasons of swimming now (once or twice a week) and still are in great shape. When they need to be replaced, I will certainly get more of these for my girls.

Swimmers have a different use for swim caps
Actually, the purpose of a swim cap is to keep hair out of the face, and keep the body aerodynamic in the water, NOT keep hair dry. If you want one to protect your hair, the hair care aisle of yourr local drug store has those- they come with straps and flowers and everything.Swim caps like this are not meant for a leisure swimmer- in fact, most swimmers WET their hair before putting on silicone or lycra caps to get them to stay put. For those of us who swim in warm water and/or climates, traditional swim caps are way too warm. If you swim competitively, you need to keep cool, and silicone and latex don't exactly offer that.These are great caps- much nicer fitting than the TYR ones (which are tall and narrow, suitable for the coneheads among us, I suppose). They do wear out VERY quickly, both in salt and chlorinated water. But for the distance swimmer, they do their job nicely without causing headaches or being too loose.

best cap available in the US
based on swimming 14 km weekly, this is a fine cap that lasts for a reasonable time (2 months). if you have lots of hair, this 1-size-fits-all may be slightly small (better too small than too big in a swim cap). as another review said, wet your hair first if necessary. i agree that durability is not great, but it is not too bad, and it is very comfortable, light, and cool. this is not a cold water cap. my first choice in caps is the nikko mesh, but it is not availbale in the US. i am tempted to give this 5 stars to help offset the review that said the cap cannot keep hair dry (this is a cap for swimmers).

Loses 1 Star For Incomplete UV protection
I own several of these skins. I'm a 5'4" female and weigh 130. I bought a small. My only complaint is I noticed on the colored area of the sleeves, the UV protection is not as good as the black area and I now have a funny half tan arm. I will purchase the all black in the future and hope that it will protect fully. It took me 50 1 mile swims before it felt too stretched out to wear any longer.UPDATE AS OF APRIL 2011: The sizing has changed. I've used size small for over a year now and the new sizing is much smaller. I had to send back all 4 smalls I ordered and I re-ordered mediums. Those were also smaller than previous mediums I'd had but I'll stick with that size for now. I've talked to some suppliers and they have had complaints about this. So my recommendation is to buy 1 to 2 sizes larger than you normally would. Not as uncomfortable as I thought
I am 5'10" and 140 lbs, and purchased the L size wetsuit. It is a good fit and is not as uncomfortable as I thought it would be. The crotch was riding a bit low, but with some stretching and moving the material around, you can get a good fit. It served it's purpose in Cabo for snorkeling. It might keep you a few degrees warmer in the water, but take it off when you get out - having the wet material on your skin gives you quite a chill even on the hottest day.

sizing comment
These suits are light and thin, and fit fairly well and comfortably. A comment about the sizing though, as a few reviews mentioned that these tend to fit small. To be safe we ordered 2 sizes, medium and large for myself, and x-small and small for my girlfriend. I normally wear medium but for this suit, I fit large, my girlfriend who normally wears x-small, fits small.

I read all the reviews about these being sized small and bought an X-Large. My typical size is large. It is still too tight and I should have bought an XX-large. Not bad quality and appearance for the $19.95 price but the sizing thing has me puzzled.
